Gruber is a screenwriter, filmmaker and film critic living in Bushwick, New York.

He's written several screenplays and a large amount of short scripts, pitches, treatments, and dozens of film reviews. He has recently started production on a new film and is working on another feature screenplay.

To Suite101 he hopes to contribute accessible critical analysis of films that have fallen beneath the cracks; those lost classics, "arthouse" films, far flung independents, fun obscura and works mostly unfamiliar to English-speaking or American audiences. Above all he wishes his reviews to entertain, educate, and hopefully illuminate new ways to enjoy the world's cinema that readers may not have been aware of before.

In other words, he wants to write the kinds of things that he would want to read.
